| Leslie J. Stanford founded Les Stanford Chevrolet on his birthday, August 5, 1968. It was his lifetime dream to own and operate a Chevrolet franchise. In the mid-80's, after 50 years in the automotive industry, Les decided to turn the business over to his two sons, Gary and myself. Both of us learned valuable lessons under our father's tutelage - hard work, perseverance and our "golden rule," that a man's word is his bond. With those lessons learned and a dedication to the family business, my brother and I have taken the dealership to the next level. As the business and number of employees expanded, so did sales and the ominous distinction as "America's Corvette King."
